Lucky was a unique publication whose identity hovers between an artists’ magazine, ‘zine, and artists’ book. We call it a ‘metazine’ because of its self-conscious nature, reflected in its editorial and design gestures. Issues were thematically organized around a broad topic with a more manageable entry point, and feature all original contributions from artists and writers. All contributors are women. Lucky was designed without pagination, to allow all works to appear in non-hierarchical fashion, on a poster like fold-out surface.
