Structure/Content
In general, Thursdays will be for talks/demos/crits etc. Tuesdays will be for individual or small-group technical/conceptual attention. Our office hours will supplement this lab-time. Depending on class size and members we may run two concurrent paths for 'beginners' and 'intermediates'.

Beginners start with an image-editing project using Adobe’s Photoshop [bitmap/vector graphics, file-types, compression, resolution, print & web-preparation, etc.] We'll move quickly and partly concurrently, to HTML/CSS [plus website structuring, maintenance, Uweb, FTP, style-sheets, etc.] Web projects will cover: images/image-mapping; interface-, interaction-, & information-design; ‘database logic’; advanced styling with CSS; Flash/Quicktime multi-media; basic Javascript; etc. Intermediate assignments start with an introduction to 'DHTML' [a combination of HTML/CSS and basic Javascript].

Grading
Attendance, punctuality, work out of classtime, midterm report demonstrating an understanding of readings, individual progress and skills aquisition, participation in discussion and critique, final submission of all projects. All of these are considered toward your final grade.

For our next meeting: intuitively produce 5 images and 5 words for graphical manipulation.
[Shoot, scan or download the images at a good size and resolution.]
