Graduate student Matthew Usinowicz in Root Division’s exhibition,”Introductions 2015″
Root Division presents Introductions 2015, the 9th iteration of our annual juried exhibition. The Introductions exhibition showcases the talent of thirteen emerging artists in the San Francisco Bay Area, offering exposure to the art community and beyond through public reception, and catalogue documentation.
Through a highly competitive review process this year’s jurors — Catharine Clark (Director / Owner, Catharine Clark Gallery), Aimee Le Duc (Executive Director, Berkeley Art Center), and Steven Wolf (Director / Owner Steven Wolf Fine Arts) — selected twelve finalists from over 200 submissions based on the conceptual and formal strength of the work. The resulting exhibition includes diverse range of media and subject matter featuring painting, drawing, sculpture, video, photography, and more.
The exhibition has become one of they keystones of Root Division’s exhibition programming offering exposure to emerging artists and a chance for the public to view cutting edge local art production in the Bay Area.
This will be the last public reception at our 1059 Market St. location! Please join us.
